Imagine, for just 2 seconds, that your life hangs in the balance and the only people that can save you from certain death, are complete strangers.

I do not have to imagine it, I live it - everyday. Instead of being a victim of a rare blood disorder or the survivor of a near death experience, I choose to be a LIVING TESTIMONY of the need for blood donors. As an advocate and spokesperson working with the nation's two largest blood collection organizations, I hope to connect donors to the lives they save through education, encouragement and open communication. Together, we can save lives, one pint at a time.

Every 2 seconds, someone requires a blood transfusion to live.

That's why "It's Hip 2 Give!"

Appearances, Computers & Life Oh My!

Well, the last month has been an adventure to say the least!

Many appearances and blood drives visited, a sick computer that was with the good "doc" for a week, and final paperwork due to Beauties of America.

A few notes from the past weeks: I had the opportunity to attend the Virginia International Send-off Party. Jennifer Phillips, Mrs. VA International, Ashley Dixon, Miss VA Int'l, and Victoria Goldberg, Miss Teen VA Int'l were honored during a sweet gathering of friends and family. These wonderful ladies are representing my homestate in Chicago and I'm positive they will do well!

I even had the opportunity to catch up with Joy Pfister, dear friend, director for NC International, and a former BOA national titleholder. It's always such a treat to see old friends, meet new ones, and support the ladies from the Old Dominion.

The absolute best news of the month came from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Red Cross! We are currently working on a Video PSA regarding blood donation and we will start filming in August! I am so excited and blessed with this opportunity. Through hard work come great rewards. I look forward to reaching more individuals about the need for donors.
