Imagine, for just 2 seconds, that your life hangs in the balance and the only people that can save you from certain death, are complete strangers.
I do not have to imagine it, I live it - everyday. Instead of being a victim of a rare blood disorder or the survivor of a near death experience, I choose to be a LIVING TESTIMONY of the need for blood donors. As an advocate and spokesperson working with the nation's two largest blood collection organizations, I hope to connect donors to the lives they save through education, encouragement and open communication. Together, we can save lives, one pint at a time.
Every 2 seconds, someone requires a blood transfusion to live.
That's why "It's Hip 2 Give!"

From Arm to Arm
I posted a flier earlier to detail the formal process of the donation, but here is a great video by the American Red Cross that clearly displays the process from Arm to Arm.
If you haven't donated, please consider it today - you could save two lives, including mine!

Spirit of America - A Tribute by the US Army
The US Army put on a spectactular show entitled "The Spirit of America". It chronicled and celebrated the Year of the NCO. Taking us through historical battles and introducing us to the otherwise unknown heroes that fight for our freedom.
This was an opportunity to not only enjoy the US Army Band, Drum & Fife, the Drill Team and other divisions, but to personally shake the hands of hundreds of soldiers and say "Thank You" for their efforts.
Although sponsored by and performed entirely by the US Army, time was taken to honor all branches of the military through respective songs and standing recognition by attendees. My family has proudly served as members of the Marines, Air Force, Army, Navy, and the National Guard. We are blessed with the freedom that they so proudly protect and it was wonderful to see such an outpouring of emotion.
